Using Advantex® instead of NH3 saves money!
Advantex® allows for better, more efficient and lower odor paints at a substantial cost savings over ammonia. When everything is considered, Advantex® is considerably less expensive to use than ammonia. How? Advantex is a multi-functional amine additive that can reduce anti-freeze, surfactant and defoamer usage by 40-60%.

By switching to Advantex® from NH3, the MINIMAL savings are about $10 per 100 gallons! That doesn’t even take into account further potential savings on pigment and/or dispersant.
Most importantly, switching from ammonia to Advantex® saves money while also moving to low-odor, low-VOC paints – something paint customers demand and that simply can’t be done with ammonia.
Advantex® can be used with all acrylic, styrene-acrylic, polyester and PUD type resins. For PVA and VAE resins, a low residual vinyl acetate grade is preferred. Advantex, like most amines, requires the use of nitrite-free flash rust inhibitors. In many formulations, Advantex® itself serves as a rust inhibitor that allows for the elimination of supplementary rust inhibitors – even greater cost savings.
Our marketing department calls this the Advantex® Advantage™. Most people would just call it smart formulating.
