Meet me in Barcelona!

Mike Gernon

I’m in Barcelona this week for a metalworking fluid symposium hosted by the Independent Union of European Lubricants Industry. This important symposium for the global metalworking fluid industry is an opportunity for industry experts, academia and government to work together toward understanding the current critical challenges that face the industry.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, at 3:40 p.m., I will speak on the topic of minimizing metalworking fluid VOCs and maximizing the lifetime of metalworking fluids.

Taminco’s Synergex® alkylalkanolamines continue to provide enabling benefits to metalworking formulators. In addition to significantly boosting performance, Synergex® additives actually extend the life of your metalworking fluids. My presentation will provide an overview of the enabling physical properties (e.g., interfacial tension modification, film formation on surfaces, biostability, vapor pressure, etc.) of the Synergex® alkanolamines, along with a number of new formulation strategies that allow for production of the best fluids. In addition, some new N-alkylalkanolamine derivatives will be discussed.

If you’re in Barcelona this week, I hope you’ll make it to the symposium at the Hotel Meliã Barcelona.
